Friday 26th December 2014 AM in the morning The weather changed from bright to dull and overcast so we were not sure what we would get today. Of course the warm clothes remained top priority for the two of us to remain warm, and cosy while on our walkabouts. We started of today with another trip to Lady Ann's Drive, Holkan to see if there was anything of interest. This was an early start for us so we came when there was not so many people around the area with endless dogs on leads. Pink Feet, Brent and Greylag Geese where grazing in the fields ajacent to the drive in the car park area. OH, and I made way to see if there was any chance of us getting a sighting of a Goldcrest in the area. They still remained hidden in the undergrowth - their calls, easy to hear and that was all. We wandered along the pathway aiming towards the Joe Jorden hide at the end of the pathway to see how far it was for us to walk. A cheeky little Robin said hello, while he sat on a bench, as we walked by along the pathway. We noticed a lone Little Grebe on one of the smaller areas of water. It moved in towards us so we got a decent photo of the bird. One Goldeneye remained on the water on the opposite side of the path from the George Washington Hide. The photo's we got from both of our camera's seemed not all that great, but more to the point it was a good sighting for us. We had never seen one to add to our listing of bird species. We wandered back to the car to made way for a visit to Titchwell for the rest of the day. 38. Pink Feet Geese 39. OH going towards Joe Jordon hide 40. Robin on seat 41. Little Grebe 42. Golden Eye more to come...
