Is this just a juv Kenya Rufous Sparrow?
Was going through pics, and couldn't quite place this one, though juv rufous sparrow seems a decent possibility especially since they were very common there.

Ok. I checked Macaulay library, but there were very few photos of young birds and all had light bills.

Bill colour changes quite quickly, as it happens with Estrildid finches as well for instance (way before juv plumage is lost), in a matter of days. The base of the bill of the OP bird is already starting to become paler.

Thanks!
So I can tick Straw-tailed as a lifer?
