I have brought the spreadsheet up to date. A repeat (and slight refresh) of the Rules and the link to help with updating etc....
1. You have to have seen and photographed the bird - any photos must be your own.
2. You cannot repeat a bird that someone else has already posted - check the spreadsheet and if not up to date, the thread.
3. You are allowed to make 3 wrong entries, after the 3rd erroneous entry each time, you must sit out for the next 10 birds
4. You cannot post two birds in a row (ie post another bird after yourself).
5. Try and link the bird you post with the previous bird (Name (i.e. Crow)), family, colour, body part, geographical area, nature of the species (eg island endemic), plumage characteristic, etc).
6. Add your photo as an attached file rather than in the post as this makes each post smaller, meaning slightly less scrolling & this makes updating the spreadsheet easier.
7. Include the IOC name and scientific name from the spreadsheet together with the consecutive number of the addition as again, this makes updating the spreadsheet easier.
Below is a link to a spreadsheet which holds all the birds named - 4,026 species as at now on 17th July 2024:-

All the best
