I think we can only use birds actually on the list. Just because there is a proposed split , it doesn’t mean the split will be accepted. If we start playing birds that could be split, we’re just opening a can of worms. There are enough valid species left on the list as it is.

Sure, fair enough and I withdraw it. Though the Oxapampa Antpitta isn't a split, it was one of the six species described as new to science in the paper on the Rufous Antpitta complex, which also elevates a number of former subspecies of Rufous Antpitta to full species status.

their both great names! But my fave furnariid name hasn't been played yet. I like it mostly because it's a really hard tongue-twister if you actually try and say it without skipping some consonants ;)

..in fact, my new number 1 ambition is not just to see one one day, but to be the person that spots it first with someone else present, so I can call out its name :)
