Name a Bird You've Seen 2 (3 Viewers)

Well over 4 years since this species was played, it's been split. Can we ask whether this was a Western one (Chile to the Falklands) or an Eastern (South Africa to Australia & New Zealand)?
Four years already? Gosh, time really fies!!!
That was meant to be chrysocome sensu stricto (Falklands), I hope this helps. The 3-way split had been suggested at least in 2006 iirc, had no idea it had been accepted now.

Another African endemic.

9797. Gabela Akalat - Kumbira, Angola - September 2024

The scientific name of Gabela Akalat is Sheppardia gabela. Another species with the first part of its vernacular name matching its specific epithet is:-

9798. Razo Lark Alauda razae

All the best

Well not all that long after we completed the penguin family it got un-completed again; Eastern Rockhopper is now available. As is the new Yellow-mandibled Sparrow, but we still had a dozen or so New-world Sparrows to go.

Paging @delia todd - looking at the Opus page I think we only have a photo of Western Rockhopper, not Eastern?
Thanks SA. I've updated the Gallery Search on the Southern RH page to include Western and Eastern. The page will likely be looked at by Niels when he gets there during the work on updating the articles to reflect the 2024 Clements list.

@Dave Boyle any chance you could add this picture to the Gallery please? (Including the where and when you saw him). It will then be available to all who search the Gallery for images.

I could add it to the current article from there so it's ready to use when the consensus split happens.

No worries, I'll see if I can work out how to do it!

Burmese Collared Dove was added to the IOC list in update 11.2, which I've just worked out was the first one after Will did the spreadsheet. Like most splits in 2021 and 2022 we never got round to adding them to the reverse list on the spreadsheet and they've only been played if someone happened to think of them. Which is a long-winded way of saying there are several other pigeon species available which I may or may not ever get round to adding to the reverse list but which are definitely valid IOC species.

Not sure what the link between Eastern Miombo Sunbird and Burmese Collared-Dove is, but it allows me to play.
