Better leave the numbers then for now until we're sure, so:-

Marvelous Spatuletail (famous for having a "greater rear" than most hummers) 3:):-O

Oh dear, number counting seems to be more chaotic than Pennsylvania right now ;)

So. I think (think) we should be on

1514. Wire-crested Thorntail

Why did the count go from 1455 to 1515? I think we're probably still at 1455.

Hi Andrew,
the count was on 1478 species on post #1726;
it increased progressively to 1498 on post #1751
then on post #1756 it went back to 1450 by accident
(that's what I was referring to on the post on the top of this page, which Deb fixed just below)

A way to avoid this would be to use an excel list of the World birds (like the one Clements list provides) and tick off the species played. You'd know exactly how many species had been played, how many would be outstanding and repeats would be avoided, but perhaps this is too much work.

But we'd have to agree what taxonomic list to follow :smoke:

Exactly ;)
Or leave it to Will to decide :) o:D

Indeed. Though my vote would be to keep it looser, and not stick to just one of the 'big' taxonomies if poss. I think it would be a shame if it would just be my preferred choice (IOC) even, and I'd feel pretty lost if it was just Clements, as I've no idea what's split by them.

Finally had a chance to do a search of something that I wondered about when I read through the thread yesterday (can't search thread on my phone), and according to my search Diamond Firetail is mentioned twice without being picked up on (until now ;)). Apols if it was picked up on.
