Hello,
I have seen this big flock in Mahango reserve at the Caprivi strip in Namibia, 2024 February 27.
I'm thinking of alpine swift but there is a white patch on the back near the end of the tail (image 2) and I thought there were none on this specie.
The birds have been landing on a piece of land in the middle of a seasonal pond, staying and taking off later.
I thought that swifts were not easy on land for take off, but for these one, taking off was very fast.
So I have a big doubt on my guess for alpine swift
Thanks if someone can help ...
