Need help identifying rescued bird - India (1 Viewer)

Hello, I belong to Meerut, a city in UP, India. Today morning my father found this bird being harassed by monkeys outside our house. He rescued it and brought it into our garden.
We have given it a shelter there for now and kept some water and seeds.
But we suspect which breed it is and if it's going to survive on what we have given.
Can you please help identify what the breed is and what should be fed to it?

Welcome to Birdforum.

I would suggest taking it out of the shelter into the open air which should encourage it to fly off.
