Nest on my porch (1 Viewer)

While attempting to move a tote off my porch today, I noticed a bird flew from behind it. I checked behind it and there was this nest. It's actually on the porch and I'm so worried something will get to it. I believe (not sure) it is a Cardinal nest. Male and female are hanging around the area. We did not touch anything other then the tote. She has returned but flew away again. We went around the side of the porch to get a better look and I did see two eggs. I did not get to close. Could someone Identify the type of bird that makes this nest? And is there anything I can do to protect it from predators?

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. Your nest doesn’t remind me of a Cardinal’s nest, though if you saw them going to and from I guess it is. don’t move the nest if it has eggs in it as they will abandon the nest. About the only thing you can do now is try not to disturb them and let nature take its course.
