Cross-Channel 'flying ferries' concept revealed for Portsmouth route

What could be more hazardous to seabirds than giant propellers stood in the sea? How about ones skimming metres above the sea at 180mph! Coming to a ferry route near you by 2025, apparently, is the flying ferry. Passenger planes that are going to use the ground effect to glide over the sea just like a seabird. And they make it all sound so good for the environment. How does some engineer look at a seabird and think that's a good idea, I can copy that, without also thinking oh but that would mean flying through all the other seabirds that are already doing it?
