Lee, Well, what do you claim to be an expert on? Wildflowers, if I recall correctly, or is it Otters and Loons? ;) What you stated above is what I was told by a Swaro rep. In fact, I think I posted her comments in the warranty sticky (this was about two years ago, you'll have to dig it out). She said that Swarovski was only going to stock parts for 10 years, so therefore, they could only have the warranty last that long since they couldn't guarantee there would be enough parts to repair bins beyond that time. Unofficially (you'll note a pattern with Swaro, there are their official policies and their unofficial policies), she said that if the binoculars were out of warranty (i.e., over their 10 year warranty), and if they had parts to repair it, they would. Based on this, the reason jgraider received a warranty on his used but "like new" SV EL was due to the fact that Swaro could guarantee having parts to repair it for 10 years whereas Ron's wife's original Swaros from 1999 are 16 years old. No parts, no warranty. But unofficially... her bins might get repaired if Swaro still had the parts. :smoke: Brock
