New Binocular Bargains Thread (3 Viewers)

I’ve had several friends buy through Greentoe without problems. The people who are apt to rate these services are the ones who had problems so usually these ratings are not indicative of the actual percentages of bad results. All anyone has to do is use a service like PayPal to protect themselves. Any legitimate Credit Card will provide the same protection. People here have made nasty comments about Dvor based on ratings but no personal experience with them. Same with CampSaver. I’ve bought through both several times with great results. Some Chicken Littles on the board.

73 people out of 95 had problems with Greentoe. If I was a gambler, I wouldn't bet on those odds! If 73 people out of 95 told me the sky was falling, I wouldn't take the chance going outside. 😁

Yeah it was no big deal, I will definately use them again. The nice part about it is the retailers are vetted and for optics, only OEM Dealers w/ new Warranty are represented.

It's a clever way to get around the OEM distribution agreements on price setting.

Probably only a matter of time until the OEMs develop a way to crack down on it, but for now it seems win/win with very little risk exposure.

Yes, I know. I used to get Swarovski's and Zeiss binoculars at about 20% discount from Varuste.net, but no more, so they must have gotten busted because they are right at retail now.

Here is a REAL bargain. These Leica BN 8x32's have been listed on eBay for $1995.99 for about a year and a half and instead of lowering the price he raised it $500 to $2500. He must not WANT to sell them. You can get a new NL for $2500. I think I will throw him a low ball offer of $500 just to irritate him.

Canon is having a Memorial Day day with around 45% off the regular refurbished prices for about half a dozen IS models. Just picked up the 15x50 IS Weatherproof for example at $549 with free shipping.

Nice deal.

Be carful about any advertising about water proof, the 50’s are only weather resistant. The only Canon IS that is nitrogen purged and waterproof (submersible) is the 42L version.

I'll be interested to see how much these go for.

They look to be a late model, nitrogen purged and in top notch condition. You see a few old military habichts pop up from time to time but its very, very unusual to see them in this condition.

If I were a collector I would be interested in them as a companion pair to my 8x30 but I'm not so I'll tip you guys the wink instead.

Probably the wrong place to post as a doubt they will end up being a "bargain"!

Denco has his NL 8x32 lowered to $2100 + change . That bidding sight. If I didn't just have my 8x32 sv's serviced I would nab them.
Thanks for the plug. They are $2195.99 on Astromart with no tax and on eBay with tax. I am doing more low light birding now, so I bought a bigger aperture EL 8.5x42. They are only a month old, bought new from Europtics, so the warranty is fully transferable. If somebody want's them, email me at [email protected], and we can do PayPal and save you the tax. You won't beat the price! They will sell on eBay pretty soon. So don't wait.

Dennis, that is an exceptional deal.

If anyone is looking for a low light glass there is a Fujinon FMT-SX 7X50 on CN Binocular classifieds for $375, looks in great shape.
No affiliation with seller.

Birdwatching dot com store has large discount codes for all of the 8 and 10X Conquests. The 8X32 Conquest HD has a $300 discount, which I would be all over if I didn’t already have SFLs.
Wow, thanks!! Now I really need to decide, the Conquest 8x32 or the Victory 8x25 at $719.

I went ahead and ordered a pair, thanks again! I was looking for awhile and that's a good $100 less than anything I saw.
