Hello! I have been feeding a small bird on my balcony for the past few weeks and I've fallen in love! I have been trying to find out what it is - my partner thinks it could be a young male blackbird or robin. Could somebody help me identify it? Thank you!

Hi Notacat and a warm welcome from me too.

That would appear to be a Dunnock. Sometimes people call them Hedge Sparrows, but they're not true sparrows. They like to peck around under hedges and shrubs.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

I see Andrew beat me to it LOL

Welcome to Birdforum! Great username! I am sure that you will find lots to interest you here and I hope that you enjoy your visits. Dunnocks have the most lovely song.
