New Here....Hello! (1 Viewer)

Hi....I am new here and new to birding. I recently set up a bird feeder in my back yard and am having such a wonderful time watching all my new feathered friends feast and interact. I do have a question.....my feeder is about 20 feet from where I usually sit to watch. While I can see the birds from there, I would like to be able to see them more closely. So my question: what kind of binoculars should I look for ? As I say, this is not really for far-away viewing, but fairly up-close. Also, given the recent downturn in the economy, I can't afford a really nice pair. So, any recommendations? Or even some info on the criteria I should look for in a good pair of binoculars to watch the birds from about 20 feet away. Thanks so much!

Hi Smkita and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Hi Smkita and welcome to BirdForum. For our feeders I use which ever bins are closest. My Leica 8x42’s, or my son’s old 7x42’s. Both give lovely views.
