Greetings from California's Central Coast,

When my husband retired, we looked for an activity we could do together and landed on wildlife photography. During COVID, we started photographing local birds and now plan our international and local trips around birds and bird photography (plus other wildlife). Our next birding destination is Queensland, Australia and we would love any advice regarding destinations, lodges, and guides.

Hi Kathy and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I had a trip to Australia and spent about a month in Queensland (September and October). One week in Brisbane and the rest of the time further afield (Blackbutt, Cunnamulla and Gold Coast). Had a wonderful time. I didn't get to the north of QLD. You can read about my adventure from the link in my Signature. After that I went down to Adelaide, then across to Western Australia (Albany and Perth).

If that area is of interest, I hope you enjoy the read. If you want to go to other parts of Queensland, I suggest you post in the Information Wanted forum. Give them some idea of when you are planning to go.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hi Kathy, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.
