Hello all, does anyone have any experience of 1st generation night vision gear please?
I dont have a very big budget and would be interested if the £150 - £250 price bracket is capable of buying anything that is worth having.
I would love something for badger / fox watching
Love to hear from you. either on here or e-mail me on

Hi,
I have a 1st gen monocular with a infra red illuminator. At short range it is quite handy but is not a lot of good at ranges of more than say 30m. I have used it myself for watching badgers near a local sett, which it was good for. I have thought about using it in conjunction with a 1 million candle power lamp with a infra red filter attached, but never got around to it.
If you do get one, do not use it in daylight without the lens cap on as you will damage it. There is a small hole in the lens cap that you see through in daylight. If you are interested i will sell you mine as i don't use it very often.
PM me if interested.
Regards
Rob.
