Nikon has basically abandoned the US birding community compared to Zeiss and Swaro who both continue to attend birding events and contribute big bucks as sponsors.  Opticron also is fairly active in the US, especially considering their smaller presence in the US market.  Leica and some of the other manufacturers also attend some of the birding events that I have been to.  Nikon is MIA.</blockquote>
