I subsequently tried one when I was buying a new eyepiece. I had an angled and a straight ED50 side by side on tripods and found the angled one much more comfortable to use. I found that unless the straight one was at exactly the right height, I was having to bend my knees to look through it and, surprisingly, it also made my neck feel more strained. The angled version seems a bit more accommodating for varying tripod height.I think it is down to personal preference and they each have points for and against but I am happy with my choice.Ron</blockquote>
