[QUOTE="BruceH, post: 2446254, member: 106398"] I recently purchased a Nikon EDG II 8X32. I am very happy with the binocular, but the included case did not meet my needs. It is more of a designer piece of luggage. There is no shoulder strap or belt loop. There are large holes on each side of the top which appear to allow the binocular strap to serve duty as a shoulder strap when in the case. The bottom is a fold down flap which does not keep out dust. It has beautiful leather, but it looks like it will easily scuff over time. I wanted a more rugged soft case without all the holes. I ended up getting the Zeiss Cordura Pouch for the Victory 42 and 45 Series, model number 1285644. The going USA price is $30 plus a few bucks shipping. That is the reason for a 42 case rather than a 32. I always leave the eye cups extended and the neck strap attached, so I needed a larger case. I am pleased with the fit and the overall build. It is loose enough to easily get the binocular in and out with the strap wrapped lengthwise between the two barrels. There is a little extra room but there is enough friction that I am not concerned that the binocular will accidentally slip out when opening the cover. Also the top cover of the case will slow down the binocular from slipping out. The case has four belt loops on the back. The layout is an upper and a lower loop on each side. The loops can accommodate no more than a 1 3/4 inch wide belt. The case also comes with a removable shoulder strap. The inside of the top cover has a small zipper pouch for something like a lens cloth. Here are the approximate dimensions of the Nikon EDG II 8X32 that may be helpful in case you are considering this case for a similar size binocular. Length: - Eye cups retracted - Approx 5 1/2 inches - Eye cups extended - Approx 5 7/8 inches Width at full IPD setting: - At objective end - Approx 4 15/16 inches - At strap lug flairs - Approx 5 5/8 inches Thickness: - Folded in at min IPD: Approx 2 7/8 inches - Folded out at max IPD: Approx 2 inches Pictures of the included Nikon case and the Zeiss 1285644 case are attached.
