Anyone know where I can get one of these? Or a substitute? I've found somewhere in the US but they don't ship to the UK. It is a miracle that I have not lost mine already.

I am definitely not at all bothered by a Nikon logo. I tried to find a suitable on on ebay but failed.Steve,
Two places : Nikon UK or astronomical eyepiece sellers on the internet. I tried to buy a rubber eyepiece cap for my ED50 eyepiece several years ago from Nikon UK and it was going to cost me more than £10 IIRC and most of that was P&P. I decided I didn't need the Nikon logo on it and found a perfect fit for a fraction of the price from an astronomical eyepiece seller and bought two because I knew I would lose the one I bought if I didn't. Your choice. I will see if I can find the seller if you are interested. And my daughter would like to know if you are serious about the pangolins

Yes I am serious about the pangolins: Sunda, Ground and Indian. Here's a picture of the most recent for your daughter: Indian. It's taken from 1993 to get three but hoping for at least one more before too long.
Thanks. The best I can do though is a ruler and it appears to be 63mm. The difficulty in measuring it accurately was my main worry about ordering a third-party one.Steve,
Thanks. I will have a look this evening and see if I can find where I bought mine from. Alternatively if there's anyone else reading this thread that can point us to an astronomical eyepiece seller offering rubber eyepiece caps then feel free to chip in.
You will need to measure the diameter of the eyecup on the scope, preferably with something accurate like a vernier caliper.
The diameter is 62.1 mm, by published specs and caliper measurements. I had to go round and round with PhoneSkope for them make an adapter right.Thanks. Nope it wasn't and I don't have it. I do have a case that I use for transporting it. I have had it for five or so years without losing it, but that is something of a miracle. The diameter is 62.1 mm, by published specs and caliper measurements. If I was worried about losing a cap, I would just use the stay-on case. But, I'm not sure that's provided with a UK purchase?

I would buy two. I spent some time searching ebay which was my first thought. The site you have linked rings a bell so I suspect that was one of the sellers I looked at. But I'll try again.Steve,
I was wrong about it being astronomical lens supplier ! Just goes to show how unreliable memory can be. I bought the rubber eye cap for my ED50 eyepiece on ebay back in 2018. The site is here :
Pardon our interruption...
Unfortunately the seller seems to be OOS for most sizes, including the 62mm you are looking for (thanks Ruff-Leg). I would contact the seller and ask if expecting more stock. Alternatively I would search eBay for similar items. I suspect the items come from China, so try Aliexpress as well which may have stock and will be cheaper, but you may have to wait a week (or maybe two right now as it's Chinese New Year and they shut down a week ago). I spend £100s a year buying bits and bobs from China, and I am particularly impressed with the free returns system many operate, whereby they give you a label to send it to a UK returns centre via the Post Office. I have often had a refund within an hour of posting it. It's very joined up.
And I strongly recommend you buy two.
