Nikon Monarch 7 Right Eye Piece Pops Out (1 Viewer)

I have a pair of the 8x42 older gen Monarch 7s. The right eye piece will pop out from the chassis if I remove some snug fitting ocular covers. It appears to be threaded with some grease on the threads. I have sent the pair back to Nikon to repair this issue, but it still happens. If I adjust the diopter on a cold morning, it will also try to work loose.

The fix is to simply push it back in to the chassis but....

Does this affect the fog proof integrity of the bins? The image is fine when viewing. Is there a fix I can do at home?
