Ed, This is true. Just because Nikon doesn't have a stockpile of accessories doesn't mean the death bell for the SE series. The next batch could be arriving from China any day. Though after the E2 disappeard, which had been around for a shorter time than the SE, I can understand why some people might get suspicious. Zeiss continued to make eyecups for the Zeiss 7x42 B/GA long after it was discontinued. However, Nikon states in its instructions on how to pack binoculars for sending them in for repairs to NOT include the caps or rain guard. So it's not a given that they would replace the caps if you needed them under the No Fault plan since the are accessories. What I can't see, however, are eyecups being considered an "accessory" since they are not an optional item. The E2 eyecups and the SE eyecups are interchangeable. So if you wear glasses and use the SE with the eyecups folded down either model's eyecups will work. The No Fault Plan also applies to used Nikon bins except they are serviced in California while bins still under warranty are repaired in New York. Brock
