I did understand from what was told me at the Birdfair that the black armouring was  the same material and could discolour. I'm not sure how I could have misunderstood as I explained I had two sets of SFs which had discoloured and would like my armouring replaced with the black if this could solve the discolouration. The answer was definitely "No" and contact them again in 3 months. If the black armouring is different I wonder why they didn't offer to replace my grey armouring with it.Interesting that you say the first batches suffered from issues. My latest SFs were delivered in June 2016 but unfortunately started discolouring within a week. It is a relatively minor issue and obviously doesn't affect the performance of the binoculars which for me are the best on the market but somewhat frustrating.ThanksDavid</blockquote>
