Hi,
Last time I claimed a bird I shot was a northern parula it turned out to be a magnolia warbler. I'm not going to make the same mistake twice.
Is THIS a northern parula?
Thanks a million you awesome birders!
Kelly

With that dark band on it's throat, 2 short wingbars and yellow lower mandible it looks like the illustration of a male Parula in my Sibley's. So, yes, I'd say it is one. Quote: "Yellow lower mandible blends with yellow throat (unique to parulas)"

PS: That is a really good photograph! You should consider putting in the Gallery.

Thank you Ceasar and Grousemore, for the id and the edu. I appreciate your taking time to share my question. Grousemore, I'm too embarrassed to share the Magnolia shot because it was clearly not a No. Parula.
Thanks again both, for your help.
