No plate with serial number on my zeiss 10x40 b (1 Viewer)

I acquired a set of zeiss 10x40 B Binoculars from an abandoned storage locker. The plate where the serial is suppose to be is not there and instead a “P” is in its place. Any idea if the plate may have been removed or fell off? Or perhaps these are faux binoculars?
Any help would be great appreciated!

Have you had a look at the other end where the diopter adjustment should be?
Also the Zeiss plate on front of the left barrel has nothing on it like '10x40 B' with 'West Germany' underneath.
On the dial in your pic some cover has definitely fallen off in the middle where the P is.

They should look like this one. Obviously, the piece in the center of the focuser has fallen off. They look like genuine Zeiss 10x40 b's to me.Screenshot_2019-12-01-17-57-49-41.jpg
