Today's highlights

Curlew sandpiper - 1 on fresh marsh
Green sandpiper - 3 on Patsy's reedbed
Little gull - 1 on fresh marsh
Red crested pochard - 8 on Patsy's reedbed

Great Knot on freshmarsh until 6am at least, with 1000+ Red Knots
Spoonbill flew west
Little Gull (2nd cal-year)
Spotted Redshank 6 on freshmarsh, 1 flew west
Med Gull 2 adults
Red-crested Pochard 3
 
Titchwell June 16th

Today's highlights

Great knot - adult still present commuting between the fresh marsh roost and feeding on the beach throughout the day.
Med gull - 16 on fresh marsh this morning
Green sandpiper - 2 on Patsy's reedbed
Red kite - 2 just east of the reserve
Ruff - 2 on fresh marsh
Spotted redshank - 6 on fresh marsh this morning
Short eared owl - 1 hunting over saltmarsh this morning
Stonechat - immature on East Trail this morning

I think thanks are due to Paul and his team at Titchwell for handling the great knot twitch so well. We arrived within a couple of hours of the news getting out and were quickly directed to available parking and found our way to the bird. It's great to be welcome at a twitch!

I guess the weekend will be challenging if it stays! Good luck to anyone planning to come for it, and thanks again Paul.

Curlew sandpiper - 1 on fresh marsh this afternoon
Spotted redshank - 9 on fresh marsh today
Ruff - 2 on fresh marsh
Red crested pochard - 4 on Patsy's reedbed
Spoonbill - 3 west
Med gull - 4+ on fresh marsh

Just to add to Paul's list above and seen early morning...
The reserve is alive with birds at the moment:
Booming Bittern
C Scoter - briefly on brackish / sea end scrape
LRP
Full sum plumage male Ruffs (stunning)
Very nice full sum plum Spot Reds
A Little Gull was seen by others early on
Spoonbill right in front of hides
Fulmar and Gannet past out to sea

.... And good chance the G Knot will return at some point from Scolt Head commute

Great knot - mobile for much of the morning between the beach and Scolt Head before coming onto the fresh marsh early afternoon with the knot flock
Med gull - 17 (15 ad, 2nd summer & 1st summer) on fresh marsh. New reserve record
Spotted redshank - 9 on fresh marsh this morning
Greenshank - 2 on fresh marsh
Little gull - 6 1st summers on fresh marsh
Bittern - male still booming
Ruff - 2 on fresh marsh
Spoonbill - 1 west
Red crested pochard - 14 on Patsy's reedbed

Thinking of trying for the Caspian Tern at the weekend so wondering if its the area around the Yarmouth Asda which is the only stretch of Breydon Water that i done before, many thanks
