Understandably with the lockdown this thread has gone a bit quiet again so here is a quick bump. A few years ago I regularly saw Sanderlings sprinting along the water's edge at Gorleston but I hadn't seen any for a couple of years. As our exercise walks during the pandemic take place in this area I have been looking out for them without success. However last week we finally came across one on the pier and this morning we had three running around our feet. What delightful little birds. Unfortunately I leave my camera at home at the moment during the present situation which is frustrating. Sod's law!
