It's strange, I haven't seen a Reeve's pheasant for years... then shortly after reading comments on here about them I stumbled upon one. I wonder if someone has been releasing them, the one I saw was close to where I saw Lady As on a number of occassions about five years ago.

Hey all,

Noticed today there is a Lesser Scaup in Lincolnshire and, obviously very, very close to Norfolk. I bet it has got a few of the serious Norfolk listers licking their lips.

I have guidebooks to numerous locations to visit but want to keep up to date with the latest sightings during my stay.

To be honest the best place to find Norfolk-based sightings info is probably this thread. Depending on where you are heading there may be blogs of interest (find one or two and there will probably be links to the rest) and Cley Bird Club have a website with sightings on: http://www.cleybirdclub.org.uk/cbc/news.asp?pageid=14

The Suffolk BINS website that Penny linked to has most of the Suffolk info, it is also worth looking at the Lounge Lizard site for birds in the Lowestoft area: http://home.clara.net/ammodytes/

Thanks for the links etc James. I have 6 - 7 days in the area and have a few species I want to target at several locations,weather permitting of course. Any rarities that turn up will be a bonus but by keeping track of local websites I might have a better chance of catching my target species.

Even if I don't it beats working!

So I might finally go up for the black-bellied dipper on the weekend. I heard it's been moving further afield - where's best to look for it at the moment? Are the otters in the same area?

Any light on the "TWO" black bellied dippers today or is someone seeing double?

2 Black-bellied dippers just west of middle nun's bridge at 8.30am this morning. Weird as I seem to remember this happening with the glandford bird, it being present for months and then turning in to two birds!

I can certainly confirm today's two birds - just seen them. Incredible!

Nicely marked male stonechat in bushes between beach road and Brancaster golf club practice area this morning, appeared to be on his own.

Anyone in this area might note that although Gipsy Lane between Titchwell and Brancaster has big signs indicating a long closure, I understand this is just so no-one gets down the path and complains when they find a digger in the way. Most of the time it is unobstructed.

Pretty in pink

There was a striking Black-headed Gull on the freshmarsh at Titchwell today. It had a really nice pink flush to the usually white hind neck and underparts. The first picture shows it displaying to a normally coloured bird. The other picture shows how distinctive this bird was when associating with other gulls.

Both birds were between Spring House and the middle Nuns bridge. Staying a short way apart. Heard that earlier they were close but were showing agression to each other.
The dog otter spent some time around the town center to some 1/2 mile downstream, did not hear any sightings of the pair that hang round together.

Have you got any photos John? Be interested to see what the second bird looks like in terms of the colour of the belly compared with the original bird. I dipped both birds this afternoon.
