Finally seen some butterflies this year - a Brimstone in Thetford last Friday and 3 Small Torts around Swardeston on Sunday. I'm sure more will follow quickly...

Just had Speckled Wood and Small Copper reported today. The Small Copper are exceptionally early - the earliest report last year was 21st April.

I've had green-veined white reported yesterday from marriotts way near norwich, making 8 species flying. Elsewhere the first damselflies reported from Devon yesterday, so not long till they're out here.

Now 10 species flying in Norfolk with Large White and Holly Blue added to the list. Next up should be orangetip and green hairstreak, then grizzled and dingy skippers.
