Birding in Brazil
I photographed this in a rather open area, near dry land and igapó forest. There was a tree and some bushes giving some small fruits with a few birds feeding on it, like golden-headed manakin. This bird was larger, at around 15cm. At first I thought of a female yellow-crested manakin, but the chin looks too white, although I remember the belly and chest being a bit orange (I guess)... or maybe a schiffornis or even tyrant-manakin?

It was in the Caurés River, a tributary of the Rio Negro.

Help me out please.

It looks like a female Yellow-crested Manakin to me being fairly bright olive above and with dark grey cheeks. Is the female's throat not grey rather than white?

Thanks Arthur... yeah I guess it is a female yellow-crested manakin. It's just that in my book here (Tomas Sigrist) the female is depicted with a gray throat, very different than its sibling flame-crested manakin, in which case the female has the white throat.
