Taphrospilus

Well-known member
Dolichonyx kruegeri Fischer & Stephan, 1971 OD Fischer, K. and Stephan, B. (1971). Weitere Vogelreste aus dem Pleistozän der Pío-Domingo Höhle in Kuba. Wissenschaftliche Zeitschrift der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin 20: 593-607. (Not seen)

Dr Hans-Hartmut Krueger (fl. 2004) German palaeontologist (‡Dolichonyx).

Some more on him https://fr.copernicus.org/articles/7/5/2004/fr-7-5-2004.pdf On p. 37 is a picture of him.

I failed to find any life dates. Not to be confused with Hans-Hartmut Krüger – Wikipedia

There is a good chance that he is still alive as we can read Schenkung einer Trilobitensammlung
Im Sommer 2019 übernahm das Museum für Naturkunde Berlin die Sammlung seines ehemaligen paläontologischen Chefpräparators Hans-Hartmut Krueger als Schenkung.

He published in 2008 https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/mmng.20020050108

So maybe here someone know his birth year?

And as the name Krüger fits a non etymological question. Does anyone know the life dates of the collector Berthold Krüger who was active in Paraguay (at least in Departamento Concepción). I think he published https://www.zobodat.at/pdf/Biologisches-Centralblatt_33_0010-0014.pdf so a connection to Leipzig:
KRÜGER , BERTHOLD , Weitere Mitteilungen zur Kenntnis der Schlaf- stellungen bei Süßwasserfischen . Biolog . Centralblatt . Bd . XXXIII . Nr . 1 . 1895.

As well he published here Jahrg.24(1913) - Blätter für Aquarien- und Terrarien-Kunde - Biodiversity Heritage Library

No idea, Martin (I'd never seen his name prior to your post above) ...

But, after a quick search I'd look for a Dr. Berthold Krüger, and yes, in connection to Leipzig. See; here, here, or here (clearly having visited südlichen Süd-America).

Maybe (!?) also somehow connected to the anthropologist Robert Lehmann-Nitsche (1872–1938), but that's just a long-shot, based on nothing than below (from here, on p.143):
Shelf mark: N-0070 b 380
Title: Brief von Berthold Krüger an Robert Lehmann-Nitsche Publication statement: Buenos Aires, 11.04.1911

Good luck finding him!

Björn

PS. There's also a "F. Berthold Krüger. Leipzig", here (alt. here)... in Africa (in about the same time)?
