Improving Birder
Anymore sightings recently of the LSW's? Hoping to go down there in next week or so. Whereabouts in the car park are they as I presume the tree with presents on is no longer there? Any assistance would be appreciated?
Also any recent Hawfinch sightings here or at Clumber?
The LSWs were seen yesterday, I had a female between the gates at the road and the main car park - feeding in the tops of trees. Not too difficult to pick up with patience.
Hawfinch are possible at Rufford, someone said they heard one yesterday but 7 were definitely seen at Clumber by the chapel yesterday morning.
The Shrike was also showing well just off the triangle of footpaths at Budby Common, it was very mobile but again fairly easy to find with a bit of patience (took longer than the LSW - a couple of hours walking round). Redpoll and Siskin both showed well in the forest, and a Water Rail under the feeders at Budby feeding station showed really well - not at all secretive like the ones nearer me.
