is this a bewick or a whooper on clumber lake today 4th may
In a quick visit I saw 2 Black Tern, a summer plumage Knot, a dunlin and a Greenshank at Collingham on Wednesday 4th. My first visit ever to this Trent Valley site despite birding this part of the valley many many times over the years.
Cheers
Hi there - I think both are scarce species in Notts. I think the former hasn't even been seen annually in recent years, although this year seems to be much better if the NBW sightings page is anything to go by:Hi there. Just after a bit of advice having got back into birding in the last year or so. I've done half a dozen decent trips and seen quite a lot this year but wondered what were the best places for wood warbler and redstarts in Notts. Any advice much appreciated.
a few redstart sightings were reported last year, i attempted to follow them up at one of my local patches, but to no joy.
Can you tell me if the watchpoint is well signposted?Thinking of going this weekend
No signposting, but as long as you drive along the correct road and are not too early there will be birders there.
Just click on Welbeck Raptor Point on the attached link for a map, showing the site.
