Ocean with David Attenborough (2 Viewers)

On Thursday 8 May, David Attenborough turns 99. And on the same day, his new film, Ocean with David Attenborough is released in cinemas.

I've just booked my ticket - I've never seen Attenborough on the big screen before but I'm looking forward to changing that. The film is released later on Disney+ I believe. The cinema release has extra footage that won't be shown the Disney+ release according to the cinema where I booked it.

A book is also out on the same day.

The extra features were David Attenborough talking a bit more about what we just watched, and Doug Anderson who I think was director of photographer, giving his views too from a lifetime of filming in the oceans.

The UN 2025 Ocean Conference in June was mentioned several times, but unfortunately I don't hold out much hope of anything positive coming out of the United States at this, if they even attend. I imagine when they made this film that they'd hoped Biden (or Harris) would be president when this conference runs. The aim of the conference, according to the film, is for the world to agree to set aside 30% of the oceans from exploitation. At the moment it's less than 3%.
