Odd black headed gull behaviour? (1 Viewer)

I was looking out the window in one of the buildings in school when I noticed about 25-30 black headed gulls working the field. But what was really odd was that some of the birds were going in straight lines and not wavering at all then turned around and went back into a straight line walk. Is this normal?

Edit: title fixed my autocorrect on my phone decided to move gull to “hill” 🤣

So the gulls were back again today but the behaviour above diminished significantly and only a few birds were walking in straight lines. They were also trying to imitate skuas and it wasn't remotely windy outside. Is this just regular behaviour?
