Orange binos (1 Viewer)

Just a quick question,I'm in the market for some new nl,s and I like the orange colour would I be frowned upon by serious birder's in the UK if I pulled them out in front of them,do I need to go green, thanks
Oh yes, I saw one birder get attacked by Jaffa Cake hooligans when he pulled out his orange NL's. !

No, they are your choice and let no one else tell you otherwise.

My wife likes them, I prefer the standard green, but if you should drop then in the woods, they will be a lot easier to find!

Burnt orange is a nice colour! Go for it if you like it and don't feel embarrashed.
It's not a very bright orange, so it doesn't give light when it's dark. In reallife it looks less orange than on pictures. It's leaning towards brown.
If I see someone out birding with the burnt orange, I think: cool! he/she has got taste.
I have the green one and still can't make up my mind if I regret it or not.

I think it depends on whether you want to walk around with an optical instrument, or a conversation piece, around your neck.

I like the orange, but would buy the green.

Except in the autumn of course LOL

When I went to buy the Swaro ATC scope I was instructed to err towards the burnt orange version as my beloved hinted that she rather liked it and, as she was paying, it would be a good idea......but.

The demo one was to put it politely, minging.

It must have been handled by a travelling troupe of mud-wrestlers and the grained texture of the armour was filled with the detritus of the great unwashed. One stab at a first impression and all that.

My beloved said 'no way, that is gopping, get the green one'.

And so it came to pass that our brief foray into the world of the avant-garde, convention busting young(ish) things ended on the spot and we returned to the safe, and boring to some, green one.

(But WEX do have a used orange NL 8x32 which does look rather fetching).

Choice is wonderful thing and colour is, thankfully, one of those choices.

Military to civvyspeak translations:

Minging......somewhat less than pristine.
Gopping.....even more less than pristine, verging on vomit inducing.
