Last of the this year's California sightings for me.
Seen very high in a tree canopy in the late evening, during October.

Looks good for Hermit Thrush. They can look a lot like Swainson’s along the West Coast populations, but the face of yours is pretty plain with no obvious Buffy throat stripe or eye ring. I saw one earlier today that I have to do some photo review on too. Initially I am thinking it is also a Hermit Thrush. I think it might be getting late for Swainson’s in Southern California right now, but October is probably peak season for migrating Swainson’s, so worth being careful with yours. Swainson’s migration density tapers off noticeably towards the end of October.
