Hi Folks,

What is happening please? I can't get on the site at all, there are too many people watching, how do I get rid of a few dozen of them?

Christine, (gulp) I thought for a minute reading your post of 10.15 that Henry had arrived, would explain things, if that makes sense.

Things seem a little quiet at the moment, although she is very alert and looking around. I had to go out for a couple of hours earlier and was hoping that nothing would happen while I was away. Thankfully nothing did happe.

I have just noticed something that we would never know about, if it wasn't for the webcams. The roosting bird always clenches there claws as the go to settle down probably so they don't catch the eggs with the talons. We learn a little every day.

Hi Christine,

Thanks I am glad you are back and on line, I can now get on to Loch Garten site but not the camera, this must be the busiest cam. on the net. Loch Lowes camera is busy too and unfortunately at Bassenthwaite there is still an empty nest, the pair either didn't like all the attention they were getting or I(if human) thought they were not being paid enough.

05.17 Orange landed next to EJ, called, then took off after another osprey, seen to fly past in the distance. Followed by lots of calling off camera and EJ twisting her head round to watch 'something' !
05.30 All quiet again, must have been a passing stranger!

Thanks Mary,

It is good to see more Ospreys are back this year, probably young ones "first timers" and are looking for their own territories.

More lochs and peace and quiet in Scotland to find suitable sites, great for those of you who live up there, you may have a nest near to you soon and be able to watch these beautiful birds. Look after them and enjoy.

Hi Folks,

7.00 am and EJ has just stood up and given the eggs a thorough examination while turning them, there are still 2.

It looks fine up there unlike here where it is raining.

Hi osprey watchers - I'm new to the forum - only found it recently when I was searching for more osprey sites on the web. It's great.

Been watch EJ this morning and thought she looked at though she might be about to lay another egg around 8.15am - so kept watching. Then I thought I saw 3 but wasn't sure, but I think I definitely saw 3 a few minutes ago when she was rearranging them (9.05am). VS keeps hanging about too - on and off the nest.

They have me addicted!

In that case, I hope you've been following Logie's mammoth migration on Roy Dennis' Highland Foundation site. She arrived home to Forres yesterday morning.

Yes, I'm hooked on that too! Can't wait to see whether she keeps her nest or not.

Also keeping up-to-date on Loch of the Lowes, Tweed Valley, Wigtown, Lake District and Rutland websites.

After mention on Logie's update of other ospreys sighted by warden at Caerlaverock, I looked at their website and there is a nest there too. They got together last year for the first time (no eggs) and are back again, so they hope they will be successful this year. See link below.

Forgot to mention Aberfoyle in my posting above - does anyone know if the ospreys have returned there? Their website still says:

"The 2008 season is here! So far, the ospreys have not returned to the nest, but they are expected to arrive by mid-April."

A few days ago there was a live webcam being refreshed regularly which showed a bird on the nest - was going to try to drop in this week to check what was happening.

Yes, I've just seen 3 eggs as well as EJ did a quick shuffle. It's a very red one so harder to see.

Thanks - I have been looking at that webcam too and seen the lack of picture. Looked before when there was a picture, but never when an osprey was there. Do let us know what you find out if you visit.
