I also purchased an ETM-001 microphone for $30.00.I already had the Zoom H1.For the initial test, I ran the 50 foot cable from my living room, under a pair of french doors, through a sun room, under door to the backyard, across the deck, on the lawn, and up the shepard's hook. I  temporarily secured the cable end with a twist-tie and attached the mic. I set the Zoom and speakers on a library table just inside the french doors. Cable input to the Zoom, output to the speakers, Zoom is also powered by USB jack to the computer. In one of the attached photos, you can barely make out the shapard's hook with feeders and bird bath through the french doors.The other photo shows the Zoom and speakers.</blockquote>
