Not done IDs yet but some of the best butterflies i have ever seen. all on the same track, I was incredibly annoyed when the session was cut short at about 12:30 because people wanted to go back and sit in the bar,

inaturalist is calling this Speckle Lipped Mabuya. The herp identifiers there seem pretty sharp so I'm sure i'll have it corrected if need be. Definitely a new species for me anyway.

Not that anyone but me really cares but experts seem to be suggesting Guinea Mabuya at the very edge of it's range. We'd gone there for congo birds so getting some congo herps makes sense

A couple of European migrants and African editions of European birds. Nice to have some familiar things to latch onto. Also saw red backed shrike and common Sandpiper.

uglgs2.JPG Lesser Grey Shrike
ugws1.JPG Wood sandpiper was probably the most regularly encountered wader, some of the local lapwings came in big flocks but we saw wood sand a lot
ugspf.JPG lovely spotted flycatcher at dusk
ugafstch1.JPG african stonechat
ugapw2.JPG african pied wagtail

A few more butterfly IDs

I'm finding the sums difficult but I think I make it 201 new species of which 149 photographed. knocked my photographed percentage down a little but didn't really kill it and it's still above 80%. My photographed mammal percentage actually rose as apart from the nocturnal ones they were all pretty easy to photograph and the bats and small rodents remained unidentified.
