I need some help. Can anyone confidently identify the species of owl.
This was road kill in Gloucestershire.

Tail feathers with this yellow-brown ground color and thin barring are clearly Long-Eared Owl, Asio otus


In Tawny , barring shoud be more dense and the room between the bars is in most cases spotty with a more complex and dense pattern

On first glance one can get a Tawny owl impression from the decomposing dead birds body, but also there you can see the tail feathers and it looks good for Long-eared owl ...
