Missing owlet

I think they need a deeper ledge and it needs to wrap around the sides as well. The Tel Aviv box has a wraparound ledge, so I've been told. Don't know if the owlets have ever fallen off of it. Do we know if it's FatGirl, or Tiny, who fell?

Hmmm, I looked again and it looks like maybe Tiny is still on the ledge. Good!
She doesn't need a whole night with no food. If the downed one is FatGirl she can miss a couple meals and let the others catch up!

when i seen it fall it spread its wings and i seen its beautiful feathers. Hope its ok. Off to check.

its not in the box yet. the farmer who owns the barn has been asked to go asap to put it back in. :-(

2 bruces are right up front waiting on dinner. No sign of number 3 but its maybe laying down behind. One just yawned in front of me and i thought i was gonna disappear!!

just read about the box and its a standard design and ledge. Have the birds been exceptionally unlucky to fall off three times? It looks like it. I hope the farmer comes soon.

meanwhile a bruces one chick has a long tail hanging from its mouth. The other chick has picked up a big body that is as stiff as a board. Still no sign of chick 3 here. Must be hiding round the corner. There looks like a huge body at the entrance? It almost the size of the chicks. It looks like another big rat!!

ok chick has just been put back. One each side of the box and one hanging from the door. It looks bad. The farmer is trying to help. I hope its just in shock. The farmer has just put away his ladders. The chick is lifeless on the floor. :-( do they play dead? I think it is dying. Oh please no. This doesnt look good. I.ll keep watching and report back.

its up but very very wobbly. It looks very weak.

they've put the cam off but i can hear them. I think the farmer has got a vet. The're taking the chick out.

whatever it is thats broken it did it when it fell they think.

i think the farmer has just said can you not do anything for it.

i think its either died or is being put to sleep. I could only pick up bits of the conversation. Sobbing :-(

Oh Ann, what a shame, I know how long you have been watching these little mites. At least if the vet is there it wont suffer any longer now. The box has always looked a bit iffy to me. The way they can get out onto what appears to be such a narrow ledge - but what do I know. Go and have a cup of tea.

the latest from the BOT is that they have the youngest chick and are checking it over.

looking good here. Fingers crossed. I could kiss the farmer for caring if truth be told he.s talking to a lady now. I.ve never wanted to be proved wrong as much i can tell you.
