and don't forget the stork family in Spain starting out with 3 hatchlings and ending up with possibly only one - they went off the air so we may never know. Or the Tawny owl family in Germany - started with 5 owlets with all but one dying possibly by eating poisoned critters -- at least one did fledge and she was gorgeous.\
This has been my first adventure into following bird families via webcams. Lots of heartache but oh so many joyful moments, too. Like watching the hatching and jumps of mallard ducklings; or the marvelous growth and development of falcons, hawks, and other kestrels. Or Robins, Titmouse, Wrens, Barn Swallows, and so many more.
I really appreciate all the people involved who have kept these cameras going both live and by tapings. It's been quite an education, especially for an invalid like me.
Now I hope our subject owlet will be okay and can rejoin his family.
