Noticed earlier they were standing on 1 leg and still are, see this in quite a few birds anyone know why?
Both really are looking equal sized just about so I guess there may only have been enough food about for 2 rather than 3, guess that is the way of it as there was a nest box on Countryfile tonight (Lake district) where the same thing had happened 3 down to 2 and now 1 missing. They found the missing one in a hole in the wall after it must have fallen of ledge same as the Wallies, it also had an empty stomach but as there was a vole in the nest they were just going to put it back.

The Brucies must be running out of room in that cavity the way they are fattening up, not sure what they were eating earlier but they definately are getting bigger 'voles' than ours.

their voles are super size lol. I think the grotto is quite large around the corner. While i've been watching there have been 2 food drops.

I think you're right, and i think the right hand cam has an almost surreal aspect to it!
Btw Tom, I'm just conducting the required market research (as you do!) and as remembered, the Caol Ila has ticked all the boxes, and a few that weren't on the form!! lol B :)

I do think the prey are larger where the brucies live. I haven't ever seen a food drop there but I did see one of the parents ripping up something that looked like the size of a rat, perhaps-- much too big to swallow whole-- and feeding the owlets little hairy bits of it.
There was only 1 owlet on the ledge for the longest time, with the other nearby and calling out. They were calling back and forth. Just when I was getting worried that it was stuck somewhere, it has flown back. Whew. It flew from in front of the box to the top of the box and then in a few seconds, took off again, continuing its way to the back of the barn.

Hi Marjorie, i've never seen a "Brucie food drop" either, just the seemingly endless supply of food from the back of the cave!! Awesome! :eek!:

Congratulations, Tom. I've worked 20 years for the State and it has felt like 40, I can't imagine how you feel really working 40 years for the NHS.

Quick food drop right now and I thing the smaller owlet got it. (It was the owlet on the left which looks a bit darker than the other. That should mean it's the larger, older one shouldn't it? But it may be a trick of the light and of perspective as the other owlet is closer with more light on it.) Ah well at least the food is coming in. Sorry I can't really tell if each is getting a good share.

I think there have been two more food drops in the past 10-15 minutes but I'm having a terrible time with the cams-- I hear the hullabaloo from the microphone in the boxcam and then check the barncam and the bookends are just sitting there. I did manage to back up to the last drop, I think. They seem to be taking turns.
