Kevin - I do have the shoulder/belt loop bag. I thought it gave me more options in deciding shoulder or fanny pack carrying ability. The Donner bag can be found in black - the ABA website was carrying a black one for a while, but the material that is used to cover the inside of the flaps can be quite girly!! Truth to tell, I am more likely to carry my bins on my harness and everything would be stuffed into my bag, so being able to get the bins inside the bag is not my goal. With the Donner bag, I have found it somewhat insulates my drinks better and I can use the other pocket to hold a small umbrella or my ultra light stool. I can put at least 2 guides in the large pocket and I really love the pocket lay out - I can load it up with pens, snacks, tissues, etc. I have been amazed at the amount of stuff I can cram into my donner. Price for either is actually fairly close, depending on the site that you purchase from. I was lucky and got the Pajaro Grande off the ABA site and it was a steal at the sale price of $23 & change. I have a Donner bag that I got from Sierra Trading Post, also on sale, that is red (yeah!!) for right around $25. The average price for either bag seems to be any where from $35 for $45. I will say that the Donner bags are very well made and if you can find a black one that doesn't declare that you are in touch with your feminine side - it might be worth a look!
