Pardaliparus elegans edithae McGregor, 1907 here

The Eponym Dictionary of Birds claims:
Edith's Titmouse Periparus elegans edithae McGregor, 1907 [Alt. Elegant Tit ssp.]
Edith McGregor (fl.1907) was the wife of US ornithologist Richard Crittenden McGregor.

The Key to Scientific Names
Edith McGregor (fl. 1907) wife of US ornithologist Richard Crittenden McGregor (subsp. Pardaliparus elegans).

In his obituary here, here or here I couldn't identify her. No idea if he was married and if what the life dates are

As well we can have a look at Melozone crissalis carolae McGregor, 1899 OD here
Named for Charlotte C. McGregor

The Eponym Dictionary of Birds
Charlotte's Towhee Melozone crissalis carolae McGregor, 1899 [Alt. California Towhee ssp.; Syn. Pipilo crissalis carolae]
Mrs Charlotte Crittenden McGregor (1841–1893) was the describer's mother.
The Key to Scientific Names
Charlotte Crittenden McGregor (b. 1841) mother of US zoologist Richard Crittenden McGregor (subsp. Melozone crissalis).
If she died in 1893 as claimed in The Eponym Dictionary of Birds is unknown to me. Same is mentioned here

If she died in 1893 as claimed in The Eponym Dictionary of Birds is unknown to me.
In the Auk obit, it is said that she died "shortly after he entered Stanford University", and that "At Stanford, according to the Registrar's records, McGregor matriculated in the academic year 1893-94."
So 1893 seems, in any case, likely.

This was a tricky one due to some complex family relationships and some poor genealogical work in the past.

So Edith was born to Neimaih Smith but he died when she was very young and she was adopted by Wingfield her mother's 2nd husband. Edith married a mysterious Mr French in the 1890s and had one child and was divorced in 1899 and remarried Richard in April 1901.

Edith Maybell Smith
Birth8 Jan 1876 Vallejo, Solano, California, USA
Marriage1901
Residence1910 Palo Alto, Santa Clara, California, USA
Death15 Sep 1950 San Francisco, San Francisco, California, USA
FatherNeimiah Smith (Born 1823)
MotherFannie Edith Thompson (Born 1850)
SpouseRichard C McGregor (1871-1936)

The mother Charlotte is even trickier!

She was born in Sep 1841 in Rochester New York Charlotte Crittenden. She was indeed close with her son and I can find her in Denver and in California on the same dates and places as Richard. She supported herself as an artist and is consistently recorded as a widow. But I find that she did not die in 1893 but in April 1918 in Santa Clara, California. She was apparently institutionalized by 1900 and I suspect but can't prove she may have had dementia.

Thus Charlotte McGregor nee Crittenden (1841-1918)

The idea she was dead in 1893 is not supported by the 1899 OD that you might think would say something like "late" if she was.

Here she is buried with her grandson, Richard and Edith's only son.
