Pelagic bird Madeira (1 Viewer)

I know it’s a big ask but you guys have performed miracles before!
I fell to this bird off the coast of Madeira in the autumn a few years ago.
I wondered if you could idea because it has round wingtips dark above and away underneath which possibly narrows it down? Many thanks

Not convinced it's a seabird, might be a Green Sandpiper? But realistically, a UFO I fear.

this is a super-abundant species at sea near Madeira

but there's not enough detail to be sure

I thought Shearwater too but not big enough for Cory's is it?

It's a Cory's - dark tail with pale at base, and white undertail coverts in combination rule out everything else.

How do you assess size from those images with no reference points? I would agree with Cory's.

Cory's Shearwater was first though for me as well.
