Hi All,

It has been announced today in the press that Peregrines are breeding in Suffolk for the first time in 200 years. They have three chicks. I am so so happy about this, and cant wait for a summer of viewing these magnificent falcons, only 45 mins from home and not having to travel to london or elsewhere to view them.

Here's a link to the story:

was watching them today. Magnificent birds. They almost caught a pidgeon but not quite!
my mate texted me to say he was watching them hunt this morning i popped along this evening and saw one bird sat on the pillar where i presume the nest is it was covered in poop anyway, the pillar not the bird.
cheers

which side of the river is best to view them from? The south side on the seaward side or inland side or from the north on either the seaward or inland sides of the bridge?

North inland- nest box is not visible from southside. Favoured perches etc. watchable from southside though.

You cant miss them. the pillars with the poop on has usually one bird on each side in the evening. The nest isnt on these pillars but on the next solid pillar. They often fly about and hunt. I watch from the wherstead side because it is closer to mine although you cant see the box. I hope when they fledge the young will venture closer to shore for my not so powerfull camera lens!!
