It's not ideal but it's the situation the RSPB have to deal with. Why would they want to make enemies out of the people who own the land where the harriers want to nest, if it was at all possible to avoid that situation? It is, perhaps, easier to shout from the sidelines than when you're having to deal with the situation directly. I imagine the RSPB see their job as attempting to increase the number of Hen harriers in the UK, rather than placating angry birders who wish to stick two fingers up to the estates and their gamekeepers.</p></blockquote><p></p>
