I still think it's a 'Crow' due to it's relatively short tail and long primaries (although the secondary coverts have some highlights), so...

Jackdaw.

Correct Simon. It's only recently that I have noticed just how much of a blue/purple sheen some Jackdaws have. Jackdwas are the same as many other crow and raptor species. The semi-adult juvies all have white bases to the wing coverts, and, occasionaly on some individuals, the white is enough to show, some even look chequered.

Too late to have a go, but I would have said Jackdaw too.o:D

We have Rooks with white wings here, 4 of them, they all came from the same brood & have varying degrees of white feathers. One has white on most of it's wings. It looks strange when it flies.

Well done Joe with guessing Simon's Kingfisher. That was a good one, Simon!

I am too late for your pic, Joe, but I would also have said Jackdaw!;)

Well, I'm fresh out of photos, until I take some more rubbish ones this weekend. So Val, if you'd like to take this opportunity, be my guest.

Yes, Pam, the Kingfisher ran much longer than I originally envisaged.
